The Bible calls us to pray

On all occasions
at all times
with all kinds of requests,
pray
in the Spirit.

Keep alert!
Keep on praying and praying
for the people of God.

And pray also for me
that whenever I speak,
words may be given
as a message from God

bravely revealing
the mystery of the Gospel
to which I am bound to be
an ambassador.

  1. Dear Nary,
Every time I read this passage, I think of you, for are you not an ambassador of God with your prayer-a-phrase? It is comforting to know that you are there, and I sincerely pray for you, too, in your mission to seek the truth and spread the Word of God so that many may benefit and come to understand. - Shari

  2. Good stuff. Notice there is two way communication. This is what God wants. When we have a group prayer time there is a tendency for each person to present a sort of shopping list. How do we get beyond that?

  3. Thank you for your good words. I've been following the daily Bible readings and seeing what Bible prayers come for this blog, but lately the prayer-a-phrases have been more on the subject of What the Bible Says About Love or Christian Healing Arts. I have hotlinks to those and my other blogs on the lower right side of this page, so I hope you can visit them too. Many thanks and blessings.

  4. Jim, sorry I didn't see comments for this blog until today. As I mentioned in my other comment, I've been looking for Bible prayers in the daily readings for the very purpose you mentioned - getting beyond my own shopping list or understanding of prayer. What also comes to mind is using the Lord's Prayer as an outline to follow in prayer times as that starts with praise then leads the group through each aspect of communal prayer. Hope that helps. Keep me posted. God bless.
